Biography

Şahin Aydın is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management Information Systems at Işık University, where he has been since 2020. From 2011 to 2013 he served as a Software and Database Trainer at Bilge Adam IT Company. From 2013 to 2020 he served as a lecturer in the Department of Computer Programming and the Department of Computer Engineering at İstanbul Topkapı University. During 2015-2020 he was a Visiting Lecturer in the Department of Management Information Systems at Okan University, and from 2020-2021 he was visiting assistant professor in the Department of Management Information Systems at Boğaziçi University. He received a B.Sc. in Computer Education and Instructional Technologies from Marmara University in 2009, and an M.Sc. in Informatics from Istanbul University in 2013. He received his Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from Kadir Has University in 2020.

His research interests are generally data-oriented subjects such as open data, practical applications of artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, and big data analytics. Much of his work has been on improving the understanding, design, and performance of smart agricultural information systems, mainly through the application of IoT, wireless sensor networks, crop-specific trait ontologies, semantic web, SOA, and microservices.
